Katale Square a place to be on heritage day, Marapyane village situated in Mpumalanga province just outside Hammanskraal is set to host delightful diturupa event on 24 September 2021.
The event starts at 9 am on Friday at Katale Square, with nine of diturupa from different villages such as Koedoesport, Seabe, Troya, Spitspunt, Lefiswane and three from the home village Marapyane set to entertain the viewers.
All the people of Dr. JS Moroka Municipality and all walks of life are invited to come enjoy and celebrate heritage day in style. As known that heritage day is meant for celebrating the different cultures we have in the country, it is expected and encouraged that people must wear their cultural attires .
Each team (Turupa) is set to receive a R1000.00 stipend, as this is not a competition but a celebration with different Trupas and people from the villages. We urge and encourage all people to wear their musk’s to help fight and prevent Covid-19.
All those Diturupa that wished to join the event it is said that, “unfortunately the applications are closed. The original plan was to cater for six teams to give them enough time to perform, though the number ended up being extended to nine.”
