Former Orlando Pirates Head Coach set to fly to Egypt on Monday

On Wednesday 08th September 2021 the Egyptian Football Association announced Carlos Queiroz as the Head Coach of the Egyptian National team.

After sacking Hossam El Bandry who failed to deliver the expected results in the recent World Cup Qualification fixtures. The Pharoahs secured a win in the opening fixture and drew in their second fixture of the campaign which led to the sacking of Bandry.

Queiroz joined the Egyptian National team after being a free agent for a while following his departure from the Colombian National team. Queiroz has recruited the former Orlando Pirates Coach Roger De Sa to Egypt as his Assistant, the pair have worked together in the South African National Team between 2002 and 2003 Queiroz as Bafana coach appointed De Sa in the goalkeeping department that year.

De Sa stepped down from his position as Cape Town All Stars Head Coach for the Assistant Coach position in the Egyptian National team. According to several reports De Sa is set to fly out to Egypt on Monday to sign his contract.

Currently sitting on position 2 with 4 points in the World Cup Qualification Group Stages, Quieroz and De Sa’s first task as Egypt’s frontline will be back to back clashes against Libya in October.
