Giyani Happy Boys eager to return to winning ways

After suffering their third consecutive defeat at the hands of WinnersPark FC during their meeting at Xikukwani Stadium last Saturday, Giyani Happy Boys will be gunning to return back to winning ways and accumulate bragging rights in a highly anticipated Giyani Derby encounter.

The Dzingi dzingi based club face high flying Emmanuel FC in the headline fixture of the 8th round of the ABC Motsepe League at Malamulele Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Compared to the previous season, Happy Boys’ 23/24 Limpopo ABC Motsepe League campaign has started slowly, winning just two of their seven league games.

Speaking of the team’s poor performance as of late, head coach Timmy Mashele is optimistic that they will soon turn the corner.

“This is a very dissapointing start of the season for us compared to last season, we started the pre-season very well by acquiring the services of good quality players accross all departments unfortunately December happened whereby most of our players went home and decided not to report back to training due to their personal reasons and we’ve had to go head-hunting for another players of which it’s not an easy task to do more especially during this time of the season, “he said.

” The current team is made up entirely of new players, the majority of them are still young and unfamiliar with the ABC Motsepe League, therefore we had to start from scratch by creating fresh lineups,”

That is the primary reason for our subpar performance, but the boys are improving,” he continued.

Prior to the derby match, Mashele disclosed that his soldiers are well aware of their responsibilities and that there is a lot at stake.

“This one of the biggest football derby in our area which only needs a team to be more psychological strong players who are self motivated and what I can tell you is that it’s going to be a very interesting game of football my boys are ready for this weekend’s task of collecting maximum points,”said the coach.

Coach Timmy Mashele of Happy Boys is also upbeat about his team’s chances of contending for the league championship at the end of the campaign.

“With two games remaining in the first round and six points up for grabs, it’s still too early to rule ourselves out of the league title hunt. However, based on the log standings, two games can make a big difference, so we’re still in it,” he concluded.
