Despite terror of anger luring in the atmosphere of Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality, there’s also a silver lining in the clouds for the learners of Seabe Secondary School, determined to concur the grade with extraordinary results for the class of 2021.

On Friday  01 October, the Department of Education in Mpumalanga, together with the Old Mutual Foundation, Imbumba Foundation, Nelson Mandela Foundation, Love Life and Brand SA, hosted the 21 Act of Goodness Activation for the learners. Despite the heavy weather conditions, the learners all showed up in their numbers giving a sign of how ready they are in achieving good grades.

Having gotten the opportunity to personally engaging with MEC Majuba and his crowd, the Seabe Secondary matriculates informed him on how they will  go against all odds to do greater than the class of 2020. The learners vowed to achieve a 100% pass rate at the end of the year, and not let small obstacles like rain stand in their way.

During the activation, the learners of Seabe were adviced on utilizing fundamate Eyethu Scholars platforms for study assistance, they were also facilitated in filling application forms for NSFAS bursaries, FETs, and university admissions. The Imbumba Foundation on the other hand, donated dignity packs to learners as part of their Caring4Girls Programme.

Intrigued by the dedications he came across from the learners, educators and staff members of the school, the MEC vowed to support them during their journey of process. “The Department will continue to support you all the way until you write your final examination. Use the remaining days fruitfully to cover the lost ground and to fully prepare for the examination. You only need to believe in yourselves and work harder than before. It is in your hands, you will make it. I wish you best of luck.” said MEC Majuba.

The MEC furthermore sent out his appreciation to all the foundations that took part in the 21 Act of Goodness Activation initiative, extending his gratitudes to Mpumi Mbethe and Clement Maosa, the enablers of the initiative, for their support to the Mpumalanga Department of Education. The staff of Seabe Secondary school are grateful for what transpired and are looking forward to a 100% promised pass rate, at the end of the year.
