Who is Judge Owen Rogers?


The newly appointed Judge of the constitutional court Rogers Owen Lloyd was born in the year 1958 October 22 in Cape Town, he matriculated at Wynberg Boys High School, and went on to obtain Bachelor of Arts with cum laude in 1982 at the University of Cape Town.

The 64 year old Afrikaner man obtained his LLB degree Magna Cum Laude in 1985 at the University of Cape Town, he has been a practicing lawyer since 1986 when he did his articles at Sonnenberg Hoffmann & Galombik  for two years. He did Pupillage at the Cape Bar between January and July in 1988.

He was also appointed acting Judge of labour court in 2002 and has been Judge of the Western Cape High court since 2013 to date, Owen Rogers has a number of awards and honours to his name some of whitch were obtained during the apartheid era. President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier on appointed him as Judge on the constitutional court.
