Kaizer Chiefs will lock horns with their arch rivals Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label cup this weekend.

Both teams have made pivotal changes in their technical teams before the start of the new campaign. Kaizer Chiefs have welcomed back their previous coach Stuart Baxter, who in his first spell as Chiefs coach had a 61% winning average, while winning four trophies with the club. On the other hand, Orlando Pirates have added Mandla Ncikazi, the 52-years old joined the Bucs technical team department on a three-year deal

Kaizer Chiefs will look to turn things around in this match after they have lost the CAF Champions league final to AL Ahly, however, it will not be an easy game because Orlando Pirates is a very good team, one of the best in the country no doubt. They are good in defence, good going forward, but they have their own weaknesses. And apparently every member of the Amakhosi squad is prepared for the battle and ready to step up and be counted.

The excitement and the nerves are jangling, but both teams know they need to dig deeper and stay focused. Both teams have welcomed addition of several new players to help bolster their squad. This pre-season fixture provides the technical team an opportunity to conduct several assessments and prepare the conditioning of the players before the unrelenting schedule of the new campaign begins.

The match is set for August 1 at Orlando Stadium in Soweto. With just few days to go until voting closes, the Amakhosi line-up features Khune, Eric Mathoho, Daniel Cardoso, Reeve Frosler, Happy Mashiane, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Lebogang Manyama, Dumisani Zuma, Willard Katsande, Samir Nurkovic and Khama Billiat.

Pirates’ line-up features Richard Ofori, Happy Jele, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Innocent Maela, Wayde Jooste, Thembinkosi Lorch, Vincent Pule, Ben Motshwari, Deon Hotto, Fortune Makaringe, Gabadinho mhango and Zakhele Lepasa.
