KAYA FM have confirmed that they have terminated Unathi Nkayi’s contract with immediate effect in a media statement on Wednesday, 17 November 2021.

The radio station revealed that the Midday Joy show host dismissal follows certain events that occurred, which the station did not wish to disclose, leading to the complete breakdown of trust between Nkayi and the statio

“Ms. Nkayi’s contract has ended prematurely due to certain conduct that rendered the relationship intolerable going forward,” KAYA FM said. “KAYA 959 can confirm that certain incidents had occurred, which resulted in the breakdown of the trust relationship between the two parties. The business can further confirm that due process was followed and the decision was therefore made to part ways with Ms. Nkayi,” added KAYA FM.

The radio station further stated that they would prefer not to be drawn into a debate around the details of what transpired in the interest of both parties but confirmed that Unathi Nkayi’s version of events were carefully considered but ‘were unfortunately found to be wanting’.

The radio station further announced that Nkayi’s replacement on the Midday Joy Show will be announced in due course.
