According to reports Skipper Bar in Tzaneen CBD, Danie Joubert Street was robbed by four suspects over the weekend, the suspects pointed firearms at the four employees and forced them into a storeroom where they tied them up.
The armed robbery isn’t the first incident at the mall in early January Total Sports store was robbed R12 633 and various cell phones worth R83 433 by armed six men and in recent years both the Total Sports shops in Tzaneen Crossing and Tzaneen Mall have been robbed in a similar fashion.
In January 2017 Markham store in Tzaneen Crossing Mall was robbed of cell phones by four armed men, who also fled on foot. Meanwhile last year on the 30th of December the Ackerman’s store in Tzaneen Crossing was also robbed of cell phones and cash by men who fled on foot.
According to SAPS Tzaneen spokesperson sergeant Maurice Nkhwashu, the four suspects  took branded clothes and shoes at an estimated amount of R50k and flee from the scene. The SAPS in Tzaneen has  revealed that the robbery happened around 14:40 pm on Sunday the 14th of November.
