Stuart Baxter lost the support of the Amakhosi faithful

Stuart Baxter

Kaizer Chief’s supporters took to social media to vent their anger, especially against their manager Stuart Baxter, following their second consecutive league loss.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter was at the centre of some trolling on Twitter in the aftermath of Saturday’s 4-1 Premier Soccer League defeat by new boys Royal AM.

Some of the supporter stated that there are clear problems at Naturena as Stuart Baxter scrambles to find a solution to Kaizer Chiefs’ on-field woes. Amakhosi are already out of the MTN8 and not part of the CAF Champions League this season, the supporters believe that Baxter can focus solely on the DSTV Premiership, but despite a number of high-profile off-season signings, things are not going well for the glamour boys.

After four matches they have picked up just four points and find themselves down in 12th place in the standings with the four sides below them all having a game or games in hand. More worrying for Amakhosi supporters is the caliber of the teams they have failed to beat to date. According to the supporters, none of TS Galaxy, Baroka FC or Royal AM ought to strike fear in an Amakhosi side packed with internationals and star names earning big salaries.

Some believe that Amakhosi should have nine points from three wins over those sides. They claimed that Kaizer Chiefs’ only excuse could only be their away defeat to reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns. They added that if Kaizer Chiefs wish to contend for title, those are the sort of matches to pick up at least a point. Another biggest talking point at Naturena this season revolve around Kaizer Chiefs’ goalkeeping department, where club captain Itumeleng Khune, Danial Akpeyi, Bruce Bvuma and new arrival Brandon Peterson are all vying for the club’s No1 spot.
