A beautiful final salute for Mpumalanga Station Commander, Colonel Beauty Marivate, who met her untimely death in the line of duty

A beautiful final salute for Mpumalanga Station Commander, Colonel Beauty Marivate, who met her untimely death in the line of duty on 30 December 2021.

Police Minister Beki Cele along with his Deputy Minister Cassel Mathale, are accompanied by the South African Police Service (SAPS) Top Brass, paying the final respect to the fallen station commander of Elukwatini SAPS, in an official funeral service.

Marivate lost her life in the line of duty responding to call regarding a business robbery at a local supermarket where she received fatal wounds during an exchange of fire that broke down between the police and the suspects, with only one day left to celebrate 2022.

Celebrated with a beautiful ceremony with the SAPS women neatly clothed in their SAPS Top Bass Uniform, Colonel Marivate was carried on a red carpet by eight SAPS male officers in a slow march. She was given an official SAPS funeral with community members also having made their way to the local stadium where the event took place.

An arrest of eight suspects has been made for the murder of Colonel Marivate and for business robbery. The police say they will work twice as hard to hunt for further suspects, who happened to also be involved in the crime, and managed to flee the scene during a shootout, that took the life of the Mpumalanga Station Commander.
