Royal AM made it into the DSTV Premiership after purchasing the status of Bloemfontein Celtic, who were struggling financially.
Royal AM have been in and out of court over the GladAfrica title that was handed to the newly promoted side Sekhukhune FC and for not pitching in their four promotion/relegation playoffs.
After purchasing the status of Celtic for R50 million, Royal AM has since relocated to KwaZulu-Natal and making the Chartsworth Stadium their home venue for football fixtures. According to a number of sources Royal AM players didn’t pitch for training in morning, as more than 15 players have not been paid and some being paid half of their salaries. Rumour has it that the reason for not pitching, is because players have been promised apartments but there have been no updates from management regarding those apartments.
It is also revealed that four players share a room at a clubhouse in Pietermaritzburg and coaches also share rooms with players. As per covid 19 regulations, no indoor gatherings should exceed the number of 50 people but it seems to be happening at Royal AM as a total number of players are sharing.
It is believed that the Chairlady Shawn Mkhize will address her players regarding the matters raised, today in Durban.
