Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC met at Orlando stadium in their opening fixture of the 2021/22 DSTV Premiership match in an entertaining match that produced 4 goals.

It was Orlando Pirates first match since former head coach Josef Zinnbeaur resigned, with assistant coaches Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi in charge all were looking forward to see how the buccaneers will line-up.

Stellenbosch united started the match like a house on fire as they put pressure on Orlando Pirates and Isaacs scored the first goal of the match in the 2nd minute. Orlando Pirates Deon Hotto equalized in the  18th minute.

Both teams went to half time level on goals, after the entertaining first half of the match. In the second half Orlando Pirates made immediate changes as Kabelo Dlamini was replaced by Pule. Mosele scored a goal in the 49th minute to put the buccaneers ahead. The Amakhosi killer Judas Moseamedi equalized for Stellenbosch FC in the 55th minute as the match ended in a 2 – 2 draw.
