Orlando Pirates Coach Josef Zinnbauer Resigns

Zimbabwean

Orlando Pirates Coach Josef Zinnbauer has left the club, this comes after Orlando Pirates were knocked out of the MTN 8 semi-finals by Swallows FC over the weekend.

The resignation comes after Orlando Pirates supporters called for coach Zinnbauer to be fired after disappointing two defeats against fellow Soweto giants, Swallows FC and Kaizer Chiefs who defeated the buccaneers in a black label cup match.

The MTN loss didn’t make the situation any better for the German coach, soon after the defeat Orlando Pirates fans took to tweeter calling for his chopping with the #JZOUT trend. The coach went on to dismiss the fans frustrations stating that ” he knows football well enough to be aware that if a manager wins three games in a row, he’s the best coach and loses three in a row, he’s the worst coach”.

Earlier today Orlando Pirates Football Club released an official statement stating that the coach has decided to step down.

Coach Zinnbauer said ” I would like to thank the chairman  and management for the opportunity they have given me. Unfortunately my time has come to an end. I have enjoyed my time here and would also like to wish the Club and its supporters all the best for the future.”

Zinnbauer leaves the Club with a record of 35 wins, 20 draws , 13 losses and MTN 8 trophy in his 68 matches in charge of Orlando Pirates.
