Apartheid

FW De Klerk foundation confirmed the passing of Former Apartheid President FW De Klerk who succummed to cancer at the age of 85.

Mzansi tweeps took the their time to express their condelences to his family, friends and loved ones of the former state man, who has apparently contributed positively to the ending of  apartheid.

Mr De Klerks made headlines few months ago when he mentioned that apartheid was not a crime against humanity, he later on went on to apologies and withdraw the statement after he was criticized by the public and political parties for his remarks.

Since his passing was announced earlier today social media has been beaming with South African’s passing condolences and expresing their thoughts on the man. One social user stated “God loves us all, once again thanks for taking De Klerk “, the other one made a humorous comment that “was he still alive, may he rest. I cant promise him peace but he should rest”.

While other tweeps stated that “I see a lot of hate messages here about FW De Klerk but he has done more than this current government has.”

With most South Africans still having scars of apartheid its not surpring to see such reactions from Africans who were affected badly by apartheid government and its leadership, who didn’t care about black people as they killed millions of black Africans.
