Over 300 learners in Mafikeng North West, still not placed since the 2022 academic school year began.

Classes are back to full time attendance Mothusi Marumolwa Secondary School is over crowded and unable to continue with the full time attendance strategy.

Being a public school located within Lejweleputswa District in Mahikeng South, Northwest Province, the school is facing obstacles with one being over crowded classrooms for learning.

SGC Chairperson was indicating that its over population, but there is still an engagement with the provision department of education with no clear indication as to what exactly is going on.

They say they are kept in the dark, and have not been told anything. They further stated the need to meet with the chieftaincy but for now only grade 12 pupils are attending school.

The department wants the children to head back to school on full time basis, however they have more than 800 students of whom they don’t know how they will go about it, with the number of students they have.

SGB says “they don’t have enough space for all the learners. They don’t know what they going to do in terms of classrooms for the demand of learners expected to go back to school.”
