Wild storm attacked the town of Klerksdorp in North West during the late hours of the afternoon, swallowing the town and destroying almost everything along the way.
Not so long ago we saw homes and malls in George Cape Town under water as heavy rain swept and destroyed almost everything. Now the shock headed to Klerksdorp on Thursday 25 November 2021, where it has been witnessed similar conditions but rather worse, moved to the town.
Life Anncron Private Hospital in the upper north of the town was covered in heavy strong hail that was difficult to sweep off. The town came to a stand-still with little to no access in or out of town, Matlosana mall experienced damage as well leaving the place unrecognisable. If you watch Christmas movies that show snow as high as a fenced wall, that’s how high the hail covered most areas.
People’s property is left destroyed; currently vehicle owners have no choice but to watch their cars float in water after the rain left flooding in the areas. Those who had planned to use the long distance traveling taxis to Gauteng and other places, had nowhere to go after the taxi rank was now turned into a deep end pool, swallowing the taxis in that rank.
New Vision Secondary situated in oudorp was not under attack from this storm proving that the disaster didn’t always take place in the CBD only but all over. It started off as a normal day with a cloudy weather, normal rain later in the day and within an hour, the town was under water. Currently other parts of Gauteng (Germiston in Ekurhuleni) are experiencing an unexpected heavy rain with lightning. Further updates will be made after a weather report has been issued.
