Percy Chauke, a resident of Olifantshoek Village in Limpopo, has been providing stationey, shoes and sanitary pads for underprivileged children at schools in his community using money from his own pocket.
In the midst of all the education crisis especially in rural areas where kids have to go to school without proper uniform and shoes and even worse, some can’t even go to school during their periods due to a lack of sanitary towels, all over the country.
Percy Chauke has taken initiative to supply stationery, sanitary pads and school shoes to kids so they can enjoy the luxuries of other kids who are privileged enough at have at least proper school uniform and shoes to go to school and not miss school due to a lack of sanitary pads.
Chauke told Africa Newz that he started this initiative in 2020 without funding but rather using his own money out of his own pocket to buy supplies for the underprivileged kids in his community. He also shared his future ambitions for his initiative to not only help children in his community only but also in other areas as well and also in other provinces.
“I am going to change the lives of [the] Youth of Pretoria, Mamelodi, I will share opportunities, those who want to be in the industry, those who want to reach their goals I will be there and lend a helping hand, I will help people to apply for their own businesses, I will walk with them in this journey of life, those who are in depression, anxiety, mental breakdown, physical and emotional abuse I will give them [the] help they need,” said Chauke.
“God will make me a blessing to others, He will make things to happen through me. I believe,” Chauke added.
A true hero, leader and philanthropist of his community.
