Its been D-Day for two former Bafana Bafana internationals, Benni McCarthy and Benson Mhlongo, who have parted ways with their respective clubs on Friday, 25 March 2022.
Benni McCarthy parted ways with Amazulu FC following a string of bad results capitulated by a humbling defeat to Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League.
Amazulu President Sandile Zungu confirmed today that the former Bafana Bafana striker has left the club on an ‘amicable basis’. “It is true that, with effect from today, Benni McCarthy and Amazulu have parted ways on an amicable basis,” Zungu said.
The Amazulu president, Zungu, highlighted that the club needed a change that had to happen immediately and also stated that the club have begun with their search for Benni McCarthy’s permanent replacement.
Benson Mhlongo, another former bafana bafana international, was also sacked by Glad Africa Championship outifit TS Sporting today and replaced by Abraham Mongoya on an interim basis with the club battling to stay in the second division.
