It is alleged that in the early hours of Thursday morning at around 02:00 Mavambe Global Gas Station in Giyani was robbed by ten heavily armed suspects.
This is the 4th robbery happening in Giyani following the robbery of Malamulele Police Station, Sasol Filling Station and a food outlet in the area.
The ten suspects stormed out of nowhere and gunned down a security officer that was on duty at Mavambe Gas station in Mavambe village, Giyani. The Malamulele Police Station Spokesperson Sergeant Busisiwe Khuzwayo revealed that the suspects bombed Capitec Safe inside the building of the petrol station and later proceeded to bombing Nedbank ATM outside the building and immediately left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Residents in the area have revealed that ever since Malamulele Police Station was robbed off their ammunition criminals are doing whatever they like in Giyani. “The suspects are unknown at this stage; all relevant stakeholders were summoned to the crime scene.’’
‘’There were no fatalities reported in the incident, an investigation is underway.’’ Khuzwayo said.
