National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) opened applications on 02 November 2021, for those intending to further their studies in 2022 to start applying but only a few hours left to closing date.

NSFAS closing date is set for 07 January 2022, giving potential applicants only a few hours left to make applications. Every year many students line up at tertiaries, requesting assistance from the institute in regards of making applications for funding post application closing date.

Matriculates Class of 2021 will have to wait a little longer for the results to be released. The national matric results for public school learners have been set out for announcement of 21 January 2022, a day after the ministerial announcement. The announcement from the minister will authorise the release of the results nationally.

As per usual the matric results get released the first week of January, however due to unknown reason, the date has been set for mid-January. The Independent Examination Board (IEB), those in the private institutes, the release date of the results is allegedly set for 19 January 2021.

NSFAS has for a while encouraged future students to complete their applications regardless of the release date not working hand in hand with the closing date of the government student financial aid. Late applications at various universities are open and students are encouraged to make use of this chance given.
