Femane United claimed the maiden Mmadjadji Youth Tournament trophy after 4-nil victory in a final clash on Friday.
The 3rd Annual Mmadjadji Youth Top 16 Tournament officially kicked off on the 21st of December 2021, the tournament included teams like Mpepule United, Femane United and Mohokone Big XV Football clubs that have produced well known local soccer stars like Selby Rapatsa, Selby Mashatole known as Mayengani, Mpho Ramatapa known as Ebola and others.
The local communities went in their numbers at Ga-Mohokone village to support their local stars nor teams. The opening fixture of the semi-finals between the hosts Mohokone Big XV and Femane United ended into a goalless draw that resulted into a penalty shootout that saw Mohokone Big XV being knocked out of the Tournament by 5 to 4 penalties.
The second fixture between Rajeke Seniors and Mashele’s Legacy started on a high note, but Rajeke Goal keeper’s own goal gave Mashele’s Legacy an early lead, as the game went on Rajeke managed to find an equalizer in the dying minutes of the game and it all ended into a one-all draw that went into penalties that saw Mashele’s Legacy advancing into finals.
The final game between Femane United and Mashele’s Legacy was a thrilling climax as Femane United took an advantage to go ahead with 3 goals before Half-Time.
In the second half Femane United kept on putting the pressure on Mashele’s Legacy players, and the pressure was too much for them as they even attempted on walking out of the game to save themselves from embarassment.
The match ended into a 4-0 victory for Femane United with Dona, Ebola and Xavi (Mothibedi Machete) being on the score sheets for Femane United.
