John Maduka handed in his sudden resignation at Royal AM after one season in charge, earlier this week.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic manager replaces the departed Ernst Middendorp at Maritzburg with Ditheko Mototo and Simon Gopane forming part of his technical team. Mothoho and Gopane who were both not part of the move to KZN with Maduka will now reunite as an assistant and goalkeeper coaches respectively while Nkululeko Monaheng, the fitness coach is set to also follow suit.
Maduka has had to take two squads and turn them into one, harmonious group. He has managed that with aplomb and has led the side to a CAF Confederations Cup and a Nedbank Cup final. In his stint at Royal AM, Maduka has managed to pick up 12 wins, 11 draws and 7 losses in 30 games with 47 points finishing 3rd guiding the Gucci boys to CAFCC.
