It is alleged that during a random raid at schools, quite a number of unwanted variables were found on school premises on high school learners possession. Police have made it a norm to once in a while raid schools to confiscate and prevent learners from going to school with illegal valuables.

After the posting of the image on social media, two worlds immerged with some saying this is utter wrong and government should be blamed for letting the kids get away with such while other simply say no we understand why they go to school with weapons, highlighting how learners become victims of mugging and other criminal acts.

A parent expressed their view with the following: “Some kids carry this to protect themselves against criminals because the government allowed this country to rot slowly and become a crime festival.

I recall my son once carried a knife to school when he was 15 because he was mugged of his cellphone twice. So you need to do more”

Things like gangsterism and bullying are also the course for learners bringing unlawful weapons to school. Vanderbeijl park has for years struggled with gangsterism in schools with learners of age 14 killing each other.

The Department of Education has been asking parents to report weir behaviours they suddenly encounter from their kids, to involve the Department in helping prevent more killing of learners in the hand of their fellow learners.
