DIEPSLOOT SERIAL RAPIST HANDED 16 LIFE IMPRISONMENT

Diepsloot serial rapist Tebogo Petrus Matjeke was handed 16 life imprisonment terms and an additional 150 years imprisonment

Diepsloot serial rapist Tebogo Petrus Matjeke was handed 16 life imprisonment terms and an additional 150 years imprisonment by the Johannesburg high court on Thursday, 27 January 2022.

Matjeke reportedly terrorized the community of DIEPSLOOT from 2013 to 2014 when he and several accomplices terrorized and targeted women in the area in the early hours of the morning wielding an object resembling a firearm.

According to the SAPS, Matjeke at some stage moved to the Northwest province where he continued with his crime spree before his reign of terror came to an end when he was eventually arrested by the police in 2019 and linked to several cases of rape, kidnapping, pointing of firearm, robbery with aggravating circumstances, aiding and abetting.

Gauteng provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela, had commended the work of the police and said that the lengthy sentencing should serve as a deterrence to other people who think of committing similar crimes, especially against women and children.
