DSTV Premiership club Chippa United’s chairman Siviwe Mpengesi alongside the Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements Lebogang Maile handed over new fully furnished houses to destitute residents with child-headed families and people living with disabilities in Hammanskraal on Monday, 10 January 2022.
A child-headed family in Hammanskraal were handed a late Christmas gift and a miraculous start to 2022 after being handed a new fully furnished house and a place they could finally call home earlier today.
The Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements, Lebogang Maile, revealed that the child-headed family of eight were living in a shack after losing their parents and after coming across the family they approached their friends to come on board in assisting to build the family a new house.
“It was last year when we came across this child-headed family of eight who had lost their parents and were housed in a shack. An image that didn’t sit well and continued to haunt [us],” said MEC Maile.
“We approached friends who didn’t hesitate to come on board in assisting us build this home,” added MEC Maile.
