Kubai who’s currently living in a tumbledown two-room house which has a broken door and leaking roof leaves him and his two grandchildren in dire situation during the rainy and cold nights. The 90 year old has been applying for RDP’s since 2002 with no luck. The Zillah Foundation under the leadership of Sello Manyama has come to his rescue to build him a four roomed house which is currently under construction.

Manyama has revealed that the 10 houses covers ward 3 villages which includes Ga-Wally, Nyakelani and Ga-Ramotshinyadi village. “Last year when i contested for ward councillor during the local government elections campaign in ward 3,I promised people that even if I win or loose, I will try to deliver my promises.”

“After the completion of Mr Kubai’s house we’re going to build for Ms Johana Seabela’s children, whom are orphans here at Ga-Wally. We currently don’t have a budget so the completion of these 10 houses will depend on the budget and funding,” he said. According to Sello Manyama the house of Mackson Kubai is expected to be fully constructed on Friday the 3rd of June 2022.
