It was a sad day for the ground forces in red overalls, as family and friends, gathered in Ga-Kuranta village to pay their last respect to fighter Maidi Malefophane on Sunday.

The lifeless body and chopped head of Maidi Malefophane (85) was discovered in her house by family on Monday the 16th of May 2022. The 85 year was brutally murdered by a 17 year old boy who robbed her stockvel money.

Following the incident the Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe launched a manhunt which led to the arrest of the 17 year old boy, who was brought to police custody by a family member who spotted something amiss about the boy, following the murder of their neighbour, Malefophane.

According to a statement made by EFF in Limpopo, the deceased last living son was also murdered with a knife and till to date the Mokwakwaila SAPS hasn’t resolved the case.

The EFF has also ordered the SAPS to prioritise the case to prevent similar incidents from happening. Community members have lamented that the bad influence of “Bad Company” songs and videos could be the cause of these practices.
