Dramatic Wrap Of The 2021/22 English Premier League Season.

The title race between Manchester City and Liverpool happening for the second time in four years brought fans to a standstill, as the two clubs made the EPL the most interesting league.

Liverpool started the day a point behind log leaders Manchester City and Pep Guardiola’s team who held a six-goal goal difference advantage over the Reds. The Citizens of Eithad hosted Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa at the Etihad on the final day whilst Liverpool played Wolves at Anfield.

As usual in the nature of football some expected the defending champions to surrender their title to the Red devils, and not just because no side has ever started a Premier League final day top and not ended it there. Meanwhile Pep Guardiola’s side wanted to salvage the wounds inflicted on them in the latter stages of this season by the Reds, in the FA Cup semi-final, and Real Madrid, who stunned them with a late comeback in the Champions League last four.

It was a dramatic first 45 minutes start for the Citizens as Aston Villa took an early lead through Matty Cash on the 37th minute, giving the Red Devils a glimpse of hope, with Aston villa going into Half-time leading.

Meanwhile Klopp’s side went into the Half-time all level with Wolves. As the second half got underway Philliphe Coutinho went onto giving the Red devils some as Aston villa doubled their lead through him on the 69th minute. Meanwhile the Reds led the Wolves 3-2.

But Aston Villa’s lead and Liverpool’s title hopes were shortlived, as the Citizens made a stunning Come-from-behind 3-2 victory to be crowned the English Premier League Champions.
