Orlando Pirates have confirmed that midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu (26) has been arrested and charged at the Moffatview Police Station on Sunday evening, 13 March 2022, in Johannesburg South.

The Soweto based club revealed that the 26-year-old midfielder has been suspended by the club pending an investigation in an official statement this evening.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu has been charged at the Moffatview Police Station this evening,” the club said in their statement.

“The club suspends Mr Zungu Pending an investigation. As this matter is currently in the hands of the authorities, the club is unable to make further comment until this process is complete,” the club added.

Zungu has found opportunities hard to come by at the club having only made one appearance for Orlando Pirates this season.
