DA once again secured the City of Tshwane Metro after Cllr Randall Williams was reelected as the Executive Mayor unopposed on Tuesday, 23 November 2021.

Randall Williams Cllr was elected for a second term in the City of Tshwane hot seat. Williams gracefully accepted his election to once again lead the City of Tshwane.

“I would like to thank Tshwane Residents for strengthening our country’s democracy. I accept the role of Executive Mayor with deep gratitude and humility, and I am encouraged by the faith that has been placed in me to once again lead our great city,” Cllr Williams said.

The DA also secured the Johannesburg metro completing a clean sweep in all of Gauteng’s major metros after Mpho Phalatse was elected as Executive mayor of the City of Johannesburg yesterday.

Phalatse pipped the ANC’s Mpho Moerane to the Johannesburg metro hot seat after securing 144 of the council votes.

The city of Ethekwini inaugaral council meeting had to be reconvened for the 24th of November 2021 due to power failure at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
