Zandile Ellen Tshabalala is the former Chairperson of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). Tshabalala sparked controversy when it was found that she had not achieved the Bcom qualification she used when applying for the SABC job.
Ellen Tshabalala served as the Chairperson of the SABC during 2013 – 2014, before then she was appointed the acting chairperson of the SABC, she resigned on 17 December 2014. She was suffering from a long term sickness which caused Kidney failures. Ellen Tshabalala died due to complication that involved Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and covid19 which led to Kidney failure.
Ellen passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning, she also suffered from Iron deficiency, she was born at Meadowlands, Soweto.
