Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital in Johannesburg, made headlines when a video made circulation, of pregnant women allegedly sleeping on the floor for approximately three days.

According to MMC of Health and Social Development in the City of Johannesburg and provincial leader of Patriotic Alliance Ashley Sauls, he received a tip off that pregnant women have been occupying the floor at Rahima Moosa hospital, for sleep. He said upon his arrival he found that to be true. On the clip a heavily pregnant woman can be witnesses sleeping on the chair while others are on the cold floor.

Speaking to the media earlier, Sauls says as a leader he involves himself in this disturbing even and that a solution has to come up after the department as looked into the problem and if all is caused due to increase of illegal immigrants, what is there to do. Under his post on social media, a user commented saying it is true that none South African women give birth more than SA citizens. She said when occupying the maternity ward, out of eight pregnant women she was the only South Africa.

The issue of hospitals being over crowded and delayed in service, is caused by pressure from occupying and having to render service to multiple immigrants who seem to be increasing in number on a daily basis. Former Minister of Health Arron Motsoaledi, Minister of Home Affairs, said a while back that SA hospitals are under a strain due to the increase of foreign nationals coming in the country.

The video sparked a lot of anger from citizens who say it is unfair that many who occupy the beds are allegedly not South Africans and still the president’s is delaying the process calling operation Dudula movement group unlawful.

Another incident involving a hospital allegedly took place at the Edenvale Hospital, of a woman who gave birth on the floor whilst assaulted by nurses on the clip sent, one can hear the woman asking for help while they are screaming at her to stand up, a few seconds later a cry of a baby is heard a a white towel thrown on the floor.
