Tweeps were left freaked out after a twitter user by the name of @mrwtfacts shared a picture of a large bat on Saturday, 08 January 2022.

The picture, reportedly taken in 2020, showed a large flying fox bat hanging outside a Philippino man’s garage. According to the thread shared by @mrwtfacts, in 2020, a man in the Philippines strolled into his garage and was greeted by a “human sized bat” waiting for him.

The pictured Megabat belongs to a bat species called Golden-crowned flying foxes and are only found in the Philippines and reportedly have a wingspan of more than 5ft and can weigh up to 3 pounds. Although mean-looking, flying foxes are reportedly harmless to humans and only consume fruits.

Twitter users were however left stunned by the sheer size of the bat and some skeptical that the bats are harmless.
