The globally known motivational speaker Vusi Thembekwayo stand accused of gender based violence, after his wife opened a case of assault against him.

Vusi Thembekwayo released a statement on social media explaining his side of the story to the alleged assault case he is facing, the businessman stated that he has been dealing with family matters, hence he has been off social media.

The accused confirmed he has been dealing with family matters that involved his wife who allegedly opened a case of assault against him, Vusi stated that he flew back to South Africa from his international trip on Monday, 06 December 2021 to attend to a situation involving his wife who is a longstanding substance abuser.

The speaker stated that the wife’s response resulted in her opening a case of assault against him, the matter ended up in the court of law and is on going, Vusi stated that he will co-operate with law enforcements to resolve the matter. He went on to state that he maintains his innocence and he will prove his innocence in court.

The motivational speaker said he is and has always been and continues to advocate for equality and fight against gender based violence.

Social media has been a buzz with this matter with some of the tweeps stating that “someone should advice Vusi to take his wife to rehab instead of bashing him for stating that his wife is a substance abuser.”
