The much-talked-about NFD Vhembe derby between Black Leopards and Venda Football Academy which was played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday, ended in a one-all draw . The result was not a true reflection of the game as it was characterized by countless obvious scoring opportunities.

Both sides managed to display entertaining football, but their goal poachers let them down by fumbling in the final third as It seemed like a match both teams did not want to lose as both defences put their best foot forward. The first half ended into a goalless draw.

Leopards took the game to their opponents midway the second half as VFA made mistakes upfront with Kenneth Nthatheni giving Lidoda Duvha the lead through on the 74th minute,however Leopards lead was shortlived as Rhulani Manzini cancelled out Leopards lead and levelled matters for VFA on the 75th minute.

The last 15 minutes was characterised by dangerous play from , but it was difficult for them to find their way through each other’s defence, which saw the match ending into one-all draw.

The results leaves both teams at the bottom of the log, with Leopards in 14th place on the log, while VFA are down in 15th position.
