Tsenoli former acting speaker wants Mkhwebane’s inquiry to be brought to a stop.

Tsenoli

A confirmation from the parliament has been brought forward that former acting speaker Lechesa Tsenoli, wants the ad hoc committee’s investigation against Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane to still take charge in office, be brought to a stop, pending the completion of the appeal process.

This comes after Tsenoli opened an urgent appeal to the constitutional court during the week in order to appeal the decision against the Western Cape High Court Judgement. The high court ruled against the inclusion of a judge on the bases that proved that Mkhwebane had a case to answer to.

The committee to look into the matter of whether Mkhwebane is fit to still hold office was appointed two months ago. This has brought a compromising position for the members of the party in the national assembly, while on the other hand UDM leader Bantu Holomisa, asked Thandi Modise to allow other small parties to take part in the committee, for them to have equal votes with bigger parties.
