The DSTV Diski Challenge was established in 2014, the challenge has produced over 250 academy stars who later got promoted to the professional ranks of DSTV Premier League and GladAfrica Championship.
The likes of Njabulo Blom, Happy Mashiane, Evidence Makgopa and Sphesihle Mkhize. The DSTV Diski Challenge purpose is to aspire academy and reserve team players to showcase their talent.
The challenge also provides training for the country’s next broadcasters through on-the-job experience provided to broadcast interns. The Diski Challenge was suspended until further notice early January due to the high risks of COVID-19 infections following a decision from the PSL Executive Committee, the decision impacted on all remaining DSTV Diski Challenge fixtures.
The Premier Soccer League and DSTV recently announced that the return of the much-anticipated season 8 of the DSTV Diski Challenge will kick off on Saturday 11 September 2021, with some mouth-watering fixtures. Fans are still not allowed in Stadiums due to COVID-19 but they will get to see the talents of the upcoming country’s football stars as most of the matches will be broadcasted on TV.
