“Ramaphosa is a liar” Soweto residence frustrated over endless promises of electricity. In a peaceful protest, Soweto residents marched to the Johannesburg mayor office, to hand over a memorandum requesting that Eskom scrap off their debts, provide service and answer on multiple power cuts.

Frustrated with the president, during a small interview, protesters announced the president said in only 2 weeks, electricity will be restored and it has been over months since the president made his promise. They demand that transformers be placed in areas and provide electricity to the homes that are left stranded in the cold.
Amongst protesters was Operation Dudula leader Nhlanhla Lux who says today is the time for action and no talk, and that they will educate the mayor on where she fits in with the electricity outages in Soweto.
