Patrice Lumumba’s remains returned to Congo

Patrice Lumumba the first prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, who was a member of the Congolese National Movement (MNC), he led the MNC from 1958 until he was assassinated in January 1961 by by separatists and Belgian mercenaries.

The America and Belgium government support the Katangan secessionists led by Moïse Tshombe there by making Tshombe the prime minister of Republic of Congo.

Lumumba got arrested with his colleagues Mpolo, and Okito and were taken to an isolated spot where they were first shot dead by a three firing squad assembled and commanded by Belgian contract officer Julien Gat through the authorities of Katangan government.

The tooth in the picture was returned on 20th of June 2022 after 61years to the Lumumba’s family as his only remains taken by Belgian Gendarmerie officer Gerard Soete.
