In the cold weather of Tuesday morning, members partaking in the protest are slowly arriving at Maponya Mall in their number, ahead of their march to the Mayors offices. Residents say they are tired of living without electricity and having to wait of governments promises that do not come to pass. They are calling on Eskom to scrap their debts and provide community with power.

They are set to deliver petitions to the City of Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse, and are demanding accountability from Eskom also suggesting that they be under city power. The crowed is slowly increasing in number as more arrive ahead of the memorandum delivery.
