Seabe Secondary School under the district of Dr JS Moroka Municipality, received eLearning Tablets from Ubuhlebuzile eLearning programme on Tuesday 19 April 2022. The programme has been going around schools in Mpumalanga, handing over learning tablets to grade 12 pupils.

The MEC of Education in the province has shown determination to grow the standard of learning in schools around the province, giving learners access to equip themselves with electronic learning material. Since the start of Covid-19, schools had to resort to online learning, catching up with the curriculum even with many holidays in the country.

The learners from all the schools, have accepted the tablets in faith for better learning, and reducing the pressure that comes with being a grade 12 pupil. The Ubuhlebuzile eLearning programme has been working around the whole province. Schools that have already received the tablet are: Pungutsha Secondary, Seabe Secondary, Mabothe.

In Bushbuck Ridge it’s Bushbuckridge Secondary, Ngwaritsane Secondary, Mmabatho Mokoena Secondary, Magabotse Secondary, Diwiti Secondary, Freddy Sithole High and Mkhweyantaba High. Learners and teachers at Amadlelo Aluhlaza , Nqubeko and Sinethemba Secondary Schools in Mkhondo Local Municipality received their Laptops and tablets respectively. And will now head over to visit Sikhwahlane Secondary in Nkomazi Local Municipality.

“Sikhwahlane Secondary School grade 12 learners and teachers will be some of the beneficiaries of Ubuhlebuzile e-learning Programme on Thursday, 21 April 2022. Sikhwahlane Secondary School, located in the Nkomazi Local Municipality, is one of the top performing schools in the Province.”

“It has never performed below 90% in the NSC examinations for the past four years: In 2018, the school registered 98.5 % ( i.e. 130 learners) pass rate in grade 12. In 2019, it obtained 97.3% (110 learners). In 2020, it obtained 96.1% ( 147 learners) and in 2021, it obtained 91.3 % ( 179 learners ).”

“Now that the learners at this school will be receiving these educational resources, it is expected that they will still rise to the occassion and register results which will be above the normal threshold.” The MEC for Education, Mr Bonakele Majuba will grace the occassion of delivery of the tablets and laptops to grade 12 learners and teachers respectively.

The programme has thusfar handed out laptops and tablets to learners and teacher, with hopes that by the end of April 2022 they would have handed over by far their digital equipment to 55000 and 6700 teachers. The tablets will be of no cost and zero rated data to the learners, to access eLearning educational programs.
