CEO Steve Miller of Save the Children feels the president failed to address the children’s rights during SONA. Save the children is a non-profit organization that believes every child deserves a future in South Africa and around the world.

The organization gives children a healthy start in life. They protect children who are in danger or neglected and give them quality education, so they grow up happy and healthy.

Steve Miller says “this is another missed opportunity for us to put the children at the very center of everything that we build. As far as democratic era, we still don’t have equal opportunities for all children.”

“We have one of the greatest constitutions in the world in South Africa and we have national plan for children. We are also the most unequal society in the world.”

The say a practical thing would be an office for the rights of a child, seated in the presidency invested in to monitor, mainstream children’s rights across all the pipeline.

He mentioned President should call a national conference for child rights. They want the president to get them together and start having them to collaborate.

He wants the children to speak about their experience and allow children to be involved in decisions that affect their own live.
