From no status, to payment dates set, to no payment and now all beneficiaries should reapply. Reapplications opened on 23 April, the Department of Social Development  notified the public on Friday 22 April in a statement that all previous beneficiaries of the SRD R350 grant should make use of their website to reapply for the grant.

The news come after no payments were made for the month of April and the presidents speech where he announced South Africa is no longer considered to be in a National State Disaster for Covid19. Millions of applicant were left confused when the April Status did not appear on the website under status check, only to wake up weeks later to a “Awaiting Reapplication” on the status check.

The Minister Of Social Development will in the week conduct a briefing to inform the public on further details on the implementation of the SRD Covid19 relief grant. In the meantime, beneficiaries are all encouraged to reapply, including new applicants as tabs have now been activated. Applications are taking place with applicants being successful while other reapplications keep saying fail.
