The Premier Soccer League awards ceremony took place on Sunday evening, with Mamelodi Sundowns winning big on the night. Mamelodi Sundowns wrapped up the 2021/22 season on a high level as they’ve completed their trophy treble on winning the DStv, MTN8 and Nedbank Cup title , it was no surprise to see the Brazilians dominate the league awards.

The first award winner of the evening was Andile Jali who respectively walked away with the MTN8 Last Man Standing, Player of the tournament accolades and DStv Premiership Midfielder of the season.

Amatuks goalscoring full-back, Keagan Allan bagged the MTN8 Most promising player of the tournament accolade, while Tiklas Thutlwa (Black Leopards) won the GladAfrica Championship Goalscorer award. Orlando Pirates Development team product, Boitumelo Radiopane walked away with the DStv Diski Challenge top Goalscorer and Player of the season award.

In the Goalkeeping department, Cape Town City’s Hugo Marquees won the Goalkeeper of the season award meanwhile Lyle Lakay was voted as Defender of the season. Luke Fleurs was voted as the DStv Premiership young player of the season meanwhile Mamelodi Sundowns co-coaches duo, Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokoena walked away with the DStv Premiership Coach Of The Season award, after guiding the Brazilians to treble trophies glory.

The Namibian International, Peter Shalulile walked away with the DStv Player’s player of the tournament, top goalscorer of the season and footballer of the season. The PSL Footballer of the Season is voted exclusively by the Premier Division coaches while the DStv Premiership Player’s Player of the Season is chosen by players.
