Richard Mdluli, former Crime Intelligence boss, granted parole after his sentencing to five years in prison, on September 2020.
“Mr Mdluli will complete the remainder of the sentence in the system of community corrections, whereby he is expected to comply with a specific set of conditions and will be subjected to supervision until his sentence expires,” said Spokesperson for the Department of Correctional Services Singabakho Nxumalo.
Richard Mdluli’s sentencing for kidnapping, assault and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, was set to five years in prison. His arrested is linked to an abduction case of Oupa Ramogibe and Tshidi Buthelezi, Mdluli’s former lover.
It is reported the two were forcefully dragged to a police station where they were assaulted, beaten by Mdluli and Mthembeni Mthunzi, who was policeman then, after Mdluli found the pair involved in a love triangle affair.
