South African Musician Makhadzi has come under heavy criticism on social media for honouring President Cyril Ramaphosa’s invitation to perform at an ANC event in Polokwane.
Makhadzi shared some snaps on social media showing her wearing an attire with the black, green, and yellow colours associated with the ANC political party, However, fans and tweeps alike have shared their displeasure at the Limpopo-born musician.
“Cyril Ramaphosa is destroying Makhadzi’s brand by involving her in politics. The ANC criminals will do anything to convince people to vote for them. They don’t care about anyone, they just want votes”, “Why is Makhadzi sabotaging her career”, “ANC oppresses us, and that makes Makhadzi and Shimza proud”, read some of the tweets.
There are people who felt that the criticism on Makhadzi was uncalled for and came to her defence. “Makhadzi is beautiful and she can accept any invitation * after all who can turn down presidential invite”, “Lol those of you who want to unfollow Makhadzi feel free! ENCA and Clicks didn’t fall and Brackenfell high school website still is in Afrikaans ****”, “Leave Makhadzi alone”, read some of the tweets as other tweeps came to Makhadzi’s defence.
