The Minister of Human Settlements Mmamoloko Kubayi is in the Northwest to handover title deeds to homeowners in Matlosana and Rustenburg in Northwest.
Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi was scheduled to receive a briefing on 06 and 07 December 2021 of Matlosana and Rustenburg, on how the Provincial Department on Human Settlement made progress in achieving its housing delivery target for 2021/2022 financial year.
A report will be sent out to the minister to inform her about areas where her attention and intervention will be needed, looking at things like delayed and blocked housing projects, leading to slow delivery of houses in the province of Northwest, just as she has in the past weeks visiting other seven provinces to tackle the issue of housing.
Upon her visit to the other seven provinces, issues of urgency to accelerate housing delivery plus making sure contractors provide work of quality on time within the set of budgets, were raised to the Minister by stakeholders and other beneficiaries. And during her visit in Matlosana municipality on 06 December, where she handed over title deeds to those who benefitted from projects delivered by the government.
The minister also visited the N12 Housing Mega project site in the municipality for inspection after handing out title deeds to those in Klerksdorp Alabama ext. 4 and Kanana, accompanied by MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional affairs Lena Miga and the Executive mayor of the municipality.
Her second visit for Tuesday 07 December 2021, will be to six elderly family in Rustenburg villages.
