Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi responds to a tweet on allegations of Letswalo Siblings who are believed to be studying outside the school premises of Northcliff High. “Its alleged that the Letswalo Siblings are not allowed to study at Northcliff High because their parents are currently unemployed. Lesufi responded to the tweet allerting concerned public that he indeed spoke with the parents who refused his offer. “We offered an alternative school for the kids unfortunately the family declined the offer and wanted the learners to be admitted at a school with almost 453 learners on the waiting list. We will continue to facilitate assistance to the family.”

Northcliff has not yet confirmed or denied the allegations, however according to MEC, the school has a long waiting list and ask that parents loof for other alternatives. The school is also a public school, which caused division as to why should the parents unemployed status details the studies. A screengrab of the possibile amount payable for school feels at this institution was shared which revealed an estimation I’ve over R46 700 per year.
The tweet left many thanking the MEC for trying and wishing him luck with forther requests for him to not give up trying to convince parents to take the offer . School exempion and distance were the two main pointers during the online debate.
