Lebash FC were crowned Capricorn SAB League champions on Sunday after finishing at the top of the table in the two-day SAB League preliminary play-offs.
The team topped a four team mini league. It consisted of four teams that won the four streams in the Capricorn SAB league.
The other participants were Dandol Academy, Dinho FC and Mohlabile United. The games were played at Big 15 Sports Ground, Devrede Village in Blouberg Limpopo.
The village boys’ crown in the play-offs did not come easy as they had to play two matches where they played to a 2-1 victory over Dandol Academy in the first match before smashing Dinho FC 4-3 in their second match on Saturday.
Lebash managed to collect all the maximum points after playing to a 1-1 stalemate against Mohlabile United in the finals to secure a place in the provincial tournament by finishing at the top of the table by seven points, one point adrift Mohlabile.
This victory means Lebash will represent Capricorn in the provincial Playoffs that are expected to be staged at Nkowankowa Stadium in Mopani District over the weekend of 25 and 26 June.
