Hammanskraal | Clean Up under way at Jubilee Mall after the Mall was flooded

Jubilee

Jubilee Mall in Temba, Hammanskraal was flooded after the heavy rain that fell on Saturday, leaving consumers with no option but to swim through the waters.

With rainy season only beginning more natural disasters are expected to be experienced in Gauteng and other parts of the country including Western Cape, especially the informal settlements. The huge rain that Gauteng experienced yesterday left the highly used Jubilee Mall flooded with minor roof damages.

The entrance of the mall including the parking lots were so much flooded that the shoppers were unable to get to their cars and also the pedestrian customers had to take off their shoes and walk outside and go catch their taxis. Members of the public expressed their shock on social media with the mall’s lack of drains to absorb the rainy water.

In videos making rounds on social media, consumers can be seen walking through the water in order to get to the taxi rank, with the shopped goods wet. The cars in the parking halfly covered with water, lucky none was swayed away by the water. Residents of Kanana also experienced  property damages.
